Ronaldo makes history with 900th goal as Portugal beats Croatia in Nations League
Cristiano Ronaldo etched his name in football history books once again on Wednesday night, becoming the first player ever to reach the incredible milestone of 900 career goals. The 39-year-old Portuguese superstar achieved the feat in style, scoring the second goal for his country in their 2-1 victory over Croatia in a UEFA Nations League Group A1 match.
His historic goal came in the 34th minute, just minutes after Jose Diogo Dalot had given Portugal the lead. The Manchester United forward’s strike was a trademark finish, as he expertly slotted the ball past Croatian goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic.
Although Croatia reduced the deficit with an own goal by Dalot in the 41st minute, Portugal secured the win with a 2-1 scoreline.
Ronaldo, who currently plays for Al Nassr in the Saudi Professional League, has enjoyed a storied career with Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus.
He has accumulated numerous achievements, including five Ballon d’Or awards and four Golden Shoes, making him the most decorated European player in history.
Throughout his career, Ronaldo has won 35 trophies, including five UEFA Champions League titles.
