Fenerbahce coach Jose Mourinho, known for his successful managerial career in Europe, now finds himself in a new chapter in Istanbul.

After joining Fenerbahce this summer, coach Mourinho has embraced a life of luxury at the prestigious Four Seasons Bosphorus Hotel. However, the lavish lifestyle contrasts sharply with his current challenges on the football pitch.

Mourinho chose the hotel, perched on the European side of the Bosphorus, as his residence since arriving in June.

The suite he occupies, which costs $1,300 a night, offers breathtaking views and world-class amenities, including two pools and five restaurants. Despite this, his team has faced difficulties on the field, where Fenerbahce remains winless in October and sits eight points behind Galatasaray in the Super Lig.

Coach Mourinho’s mixed results, criticism from Fenerbahce legends

Fenerbahce’s struggles have drawn criticism from former players, including Volkan Demirel, who voiced concerns about the atmosphere in the dressing room.

Right now, this Fenerbahce team is filled with unhappiness and hopelessness. We expected more from Mourinho and the transfers, but nothing has changed. We have not seen any [tactical innovation and] changes in the matches at home or away.

said Fenerbahce’s legendary ex-goalkeeper Demirel in an interview with Fanatik

Despite the criticism, Mourinho remains focused on his upcoming Europa League showdown against his former club, Manchester United. Mourinho has a history with United, having guided them to a Europa League victory in 2017, and now hopes to replicate that success with Fenerbahce.

While Mourinho navigates Fenerbahce’s struggles, his life off the pitch paints a starkly different picture.

The Four Seasons Bosphorus Hotel, where he has resided since his arrival, provides all the luxury and comfort one could imagine.

Mourinho, who earns $13 million a year in Türkiye, enjoys daily swims in the heated pool and is chauffeured to Fenerbahce’s training ground.

Fenerbahce had offered to rent him the best house in the city, but Mourinho preferred the hotel life.

The suite comes with a private terrace, marble bathroom and stunning views of the Bosphorus Strait.

With a $142,000 hotel bill already accumulated since June, Mourinho’s living expenses are just a fraction of his salary, but his team’s fortunes remain his real concern.
