Burnley’s Wout Weghorst expected to join Trabzonspor
Dutch footballer Wout Weghorst, absent from Burnley’s squad for their match against Sunderland, is expected to transfer to Trabzonspor.
Burnley manager Scott Parker confirmed after the match that Weghorst, 32, will be leaving the club.
Despite his contract with Burnley running until next year, the club is open to negotiations as they no longer view him as part of their plans.
Weghorst’s current market value is estimated at €6 million.
The Dutch striker is reportedly interested in moving to Türkiye, where he had a successful stint with Besiktas in the first half of the 2022-2023 season.
Having made a positive impression with his goals, Weghorst is said to be considering Trabzonspor’s offer.
