Brighton signs Ferdi Kadioglu in £25.4M deal
Brighton & Hove Albion has secured the signing of versatile Fenerbahçe player Ferdi Kadıoglu in a deal reportedly valued at £25.4 million. The transfer is part of Brighton’s ongoing efforts under manager Fabian Hurzeler to enhance their squad for the upcoming season.
Kadıoglu, a Turkish international, is known for his adaptability on the pitch, with the ability to perform as a midfielder, full-back, or winger. His dynamic playing style and technical skills were on display during EURO 2024, where he appeared in all five matches as Türkiye advanced to the quarter-finals.
Hurzeler expressed enthusiasm about Kadıoglu’s potential impact. “I’m very excited because we are getting an excellent player and a great character,” Hurzeler said. “He has great ability, is a strong runner, and very good at passing. He is predominantly a full-back and can play on the right or left side; he can also play in the centre of midfield.”
The manager also highlighted Kadıoglu’s eagerness to learn and develop, which he believes will aid the player’s transition to the Premier League. “With that in mind, I’m confident he will adjust to the Premier League and adapt quickly to English football,” Hurzeler added.
Kadıoglu has signed a four-year contract with Brighton, making him the club’s eighth new arrival of the summer transfer window. His addition is expected to bolster Brighton’s squad depth and provide further options for Hurzeler’s tactical plans.
