Besiktas and Trabzonspor are both interested in signing Serbian striker Luka Jovic from Milan. The 27-year-old forward, who has had limited playing time at the Italian club, is looking to leave and will decide his future at the end of the current season. Here are the details:

Both Besiktas and Trabzonspor, who are out of the Super Lig title race but aiming to strengthen their squads for next season, compete for Jovic. The Serbian striker has struggled to secure a regular spot at Milan and is now a target for both teams.

According to Turkish media, Jovic’s contract with Milan expires at the end of this season. Both Besiktas and Trabzonspor have contacted Jovic’s agent, Dusko Tosic. The forward is expected to make a final decision about his future at the season’s end, with both clubs closely monitoring the situation.

Real Madrid paid €63 million in 2019

This season, Jovic has played just nine matches, totaling only 200 minutes on the field, during which he scored twice.

In 2019, Real Madrid paid €63 million ($68 million) to Eintracht Frankfurt for Jovic. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €2.5 million, a sharp decline from his peak value of €60 million in 2019.

The experienced striker has earned 44 caps for Serbia, scoring 11 goals.

Luka Jovic’s connection to Türkiye extends to a personal level

Jovic’s connection to Türkiye goes beyond football, as his name has been linked to Besiktas player Adem Ljajic’s personal life. Ljajic, who was loaned to Besiktas from Torino in 2018 with an option to buy, had a strong first season but has struggled significantly since, particularly from the previous season onward.

In the latest developments, it has been revealed that Ljajic’s private life has been affecting his performances. According to reports, the Serb midfielder has been struggling with emotional issues related to his ex-girlfriend, Sofija Milosevic, who is now in a relationship with Jovic.

There have been claims that Ljajic has been unable to move on from Milosevic and has had difficulty coping with her new relationship with Jovic, which has further affected his form on the pitch.

Furthermore, Ljajic has reportedly faced issues with alcohol, which has become a concern for both the technical staff and management at Besiktas.
