As Besiktas prepares to part ways with Arthur Masuaku at the end of the season, the club has begun its search for a replacement. Swedish left-back Daniel Svensson, currently on loan at Borussia Dortmund, has emerged as a leading candidate.

Shift toward Scandinavian market

Besiktas’ management has turned its attention to Scandinavian players in its efforts to strengthen the left-back position. Among the names on the transfer list is Daniel Svensson, who is currently playing in Germany for Borussia Dortmund on a loan deal.

Svensson set to return to Nordsjaelland

It has been reported that Dortmund does not plan to activate the purchase option for Svensson. As a result, the 23-year-old is expected to return to his parent club, Nordsjaelland, once the Bundesliga season concludes.

Besiktas determined to transfer Swedish defender

Besiktas is reportedly ready to pursue Svensson aggressively in the upcoming transfer window. The Swedish defender has made 19 appearances and contributed two assists in the Danish Superliga this season. During his loan spell in Germany, he featured in nine matches for Dortmund, accumulating a total of 501 minutes on the pitch.

The club sees Svensson as a promising long-term solution to fill the gap that will be left by Masuaku’s departure and is expected to make a formal move once the current season wraps up.
