Barcelona’s Ilkay Gundogan responds to Turkish club transfer rumors
Barcelona midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has addressed rumors linking him with a move to Turkish giants Fenerbahce and Galatasaray. Gundogan, who spent a two-day break in Istanbul, was approached by reporters at the airport about speculation of a potential transfer to Galatasaray.
“A move could happen one day, but not this summer,” Gündoğan said. “It’s all about fate. For now, I’m very happy where I am. Who knows what the future holds? I love Türkiye very much. In fact, my parents live here.”
The player’s comments come amid growing speculation over his future, though it appears a move to Türkiye is not in the cards for this transfer window.
