Liverpool defeated Real Madrid 2-0 in a thrilling UEFA Champions League match on the fifth matchday. Arda Guler started in the first XI for the Spanish giants. However, a moment during the first half, when Guler’s off-target shot provoked an emotional response from Madrid’s manager Carlo Ancelotti, made headlines.

Ancelotti reflects on Arda Guler’s performance after match

Following Real Madrid’s 2-0 defeat, Carlo Ancelotti spoke to the media in a post-match press conference. He addressed Guler’s performance, stating: “Arda Guler was solid defensively, but he could have been more accurate in his finishing because he has that quality. However, he is young and just lacks experience.”

Liverpool triumphs over Real Madrid

Liverpool defeated Real Madrid 2-0 at Anfield. The English side sealed the victory in the second half with goals from Mac Allister in the 52nd minute and Cody Gakpo in the 76th minute.

The match was marked by two missed penalties, which played a pivotal role in the outcome. Real Madrid had a chance to get back into the game when Kylian Mbappe took a penalty in the 61st minute but failed to convert. On the other hand, Mohamed Salah saw his penalty miss for Liverpool in the 70th minute.
