War in Gaza changed Middle East dynamics, says Egyptian President el-Sisi
Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi stated Sunday that the Middle East region is undergoing “serious changes” amid a deadly Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip.
“The region is going through serious changes recently amid an intense Israeli war in the Gaza Strip and attempts to impose forced displacement toward Egyptian territories,” el-Sisi said during a televised address commemorating the June 30, 2013 revolution, which led to the ousting of former President Mohamed Morsi.
“The conscience of humanity was absent during this conflict, and the international community remained silent, turning its face away from tens of thousands of innocent victims,” he added.
Since Oct. 7, following a Hamas attack, more than 37,800 Palestinians have been killed and nearly 87,000 others injured in the ongoing Israeli onslaught on Gaza.
Over eight months into the Israeli war, large portions of Gaza remain in ruins, suffering under a crippling blockade of food, clean water and medicine.
