Türkiye’s Ministry of National Defense (MoD) sources outlined its approach to supporting Syria in the coming period, emphasizing cooperation, regional stability and counterterrorism efforts as central pillars of its strategy.

Ministry sources stated that Türkiye’s efforts align with directives from President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, focusing on restoring functional state institutions in Syria and fostering strategic relations between the two nations.

In line with the directives of our president, we are in talks with our counterparts to establish strategic relations between the two countries and to establish cooperation in various fields after the state organs in Syria become functional.

Necessary support will be provided according to the road map to be prepared in line with the needs to be identified after the talks. Cooperation in the fields of defense and security is of critical importance not only for strengthening our security but also for establishing regional peace and tranquility.

The Turkish Armed Forces will continue to stand by the Syrian people and support them in this transition process in matters that fall within its mandate.
