Türkiye denounces attack on journalists by Israeli forces in Gaza
The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned an Israeli military attack on a vehicle outside a tent used by journalists in Gaza on Monday, resulting in injuries to several reporters, including members of Turkish public broadcaster TRT. The Ministry called the incident part of “Israel’s bloody-handed efforts to suppress the truth.”
In a statement shared on the Ministry’s social media account on platform X, the attack, which took place near Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis in southern Gaza, was described as an assault aimed at silencing the press. “The attacks on TRT personnel in Gaza are Israel’s blood-stained efforts to cover up the truth. We stand with all journalists who are tirelessly working to expose Israel’s oppression to the world. We send our best wishes to the TRT family and the TRT members injured in the latest attack,” the statement read.
The attack injured Muhammad ez-Zeanin, a TRT Arabi cameraman, who sustained an eye injury from shrapnel. His assistant, Muhammed Karaca, along with several other journalists, were also wounded in the incident.
Türkiye has been vocal in its criticism of Israel’s military operations in Gaza, with this latest incident highlighting growing concerns over the safety of journalists covering the ongoing conflict.
