Türkiye-Azerbaijan University ready to welcome students
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Science and Education, Emin Amrullayev, announced that the Türkiye-Azerbaijan University (TAU) in Baku is set to welcome students for the new academic year.
In a Facebook post, Amrullayev provided details about the newly established university.
Amrullayev stated that TAU will operate in partnership with the Azerbaijan Technical University and three Turkish universities: Middle East Technical University (METU), Istanbul Technical University (ITU), and Hacettepe University.
He remarked, “TAU, which will further enhance educational cooperation between brother nations Türkiye and Azerbaijan, is fully prepared to welcome students for the new academic year.”
Amrullayev further noted that TAU will offer programs in computer engineering with support from METU, industrial engineering with support from ITU, and food engineering with support from Hacettepe University.
“I encourage our youth to actively benefit from this significant project in the field of higher education. May it be beneficial for our country and education system,” he added.
On Feb. 19, a memorandum of understanding was signed in Ankara in the presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan between the Azerbaijan Ministry of Science and Education and the Council of Higher Education of the Republic of Türkiye for the establishment of the TAU.
