The Turkish National Intelligence Organization (MIT) successfully eliminated two senior members of the PKK/YPG in Syria’s Tell Rifaat region, according to an official statement released on Wednesday.

The operation targeted Huseyin Ozturk and Vidan Fate, both described as key figures within the terrorist group.

The operation is part of Türkiye’s ongoing campaign to eliminate high-ranking militants of the PKK/YPG, which Ankara, the United States and the EU consider as a terrorist organization.

Turkish authorities have been conducting similar operations in northern Syria to prevent the PKK/YPG from regrouping and launching attacks on Türkiye.
