A rocket attack by the PKK/YPG terrorist group in Syria’s northern al-Bab district left one civilian dead and 14 others injured, local sources reported on Sunday.

The rockets targeted the Zemzem neighborhood, striking a mosque and residential areas.

Details of the PKK/YPG’s terrorist attack

The rockets were fired from a PKK/YPG-controlled position west of the district, near Able village, hitting the densely populated Zemzem neighborhood in the al-Bab city center.

The assault caused significant damage to Hayrat Mosque and nearby homes.

Casualties, medical response

Local health authorities confirmed the death of one civilian and reported that 14 others sustained injuries, some critically.

The injured were transported to local medical facilities for treatment.

Background of al-Bab

Al-Bab was liberated from terrorist control in February 2017 during Türkiye’s Operation Euphrates Shield, aimed at securing the border and clearing the region of terrorist elements.
