Former Israeli Ambassador to the United States, Danny Ayalon, stated in an interview with ILTV News that U.S. President Joe Biden “tied Israel’s hands behind our backs,” prolonging the conflict in Gaza.

Ayalon expressed optimism about the incoming administration of President-elect Donald Trump, expecting a more supportive stance toward Israel by saying, “I do not doubt that Israel will benefit from Trump’s presidency,” Ayalon said.

Ayalon criticizes Biden’s approach to Gaza conflict

Speaking to an Israeli media outlet, Ayalon argued that the Biden administration’s restrictions on Israel and political pressure from Washington have prevented a quick resolution to the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

“The Biden administration’s approach has prolonged the war,” Ayalon said.

Trump expected to strengthen US-Israel ties

Ayalon said the United States will support Israel‘s policies once Trump returns to the White House, noting that Trump was more tolerant of Israel’s military and political actions during his previous term in office.

Ayalon expects incoming U.S. President Donald Trump to be “much more lenient” on Israel.

Adding that Trump is likely to expand the Abraham Accords, which normalized relations between Israel and some Arab countries, during his first term.
