Spanish lawmaker launches hunger strike in support of Palestine
Spanish lawmaker Jorge Pueyo has announced that he will conduct a hunger strike until Nov. 29 to show his support for Palestine.
Pueyo, a member of the minority left-wing coalition government, expressed his solidarity with the hunger strike initiated by the Aragon Palestinian House and Jerusalem Association on Nov. 19.
During a press conference in the Spanish parliament, Pueyo emphasized the importance of setting an example in times when words are not enough, underscoring that actions speak louder.
As part of his demonstration, Pueyo, who serves as the Vice Speaker of the Spanish Parliament, also reiterated his demand for Spain to sever diplomatic and commercial ties with Israel.
He called for a complete arms embargo on Israel and a stronger international focus on the Palestinian cause.
Pueyo’s actions come amidst growing calls for Spain to take a more active stance in the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict, reflecting broader debates about the role of European nations in the region.
