A senior official of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) was reportedly killed in an Israeli Air Force (IAF) airstrike targeting a vehicle near Damascus International Airport, according to initial reports.

Targeted strike near Damascus

The strike, which occurred near the airport, targeted a car carrying two individuals. Syrian regime sources have said that one person was killed and another was wounded.

Al Jazeera also reported.

Reports indicate that the Israeli strike aimed at eliminating a “senior figure” associated with the IRGC, though specific details regarding the identity of the victim remain unconfirmed.

The IRGC, a powerful entity overseeing both a vast business empire and Iran’s elite military and intelligence units, has been accused by Western nations of conducting a global terrorism campaign, a claim Iran denies.

Recently, Canada added IRGC to its list of terrorist organizations and advised its citizens to leave Iran.
