Scholz assures Syria of Germany’s support for reconstruction

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz assured Syrian interim president Ahmad al-Shaara that Germany is ready to support Syria’s reconstruction.

According to a statement by German Government Spokesperson Steffen Hebestreit, Scholz and al-Shaara held a one-hour phone conversation, during which they discussed the necessity of an inclusive process that provides participation, rights, and protection to all Syrians, regardless of ethnic or religious background.
