Saudi Crown Prince urges for “immediate” action to protect Gaza people
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman urged the international community to take immediate action to protect the people of Gaza on Monday, amidst ongoing tensions and violence in the region.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Bin Salman made this appeal during a speech at a reception held for prominent figures and officials participating in this year’s Hajj pilgrimage.
Bin Salman noted the significance of celebrating Eid al-Adha during a period marked by what he described as “heinous crimes” against Palestinians in Gaza. He emphasized the urgent need to halt these attacks and called on the international community to take all necessary measures to protect the lives of Palestinians in Gaza.
Highlighting the importance of implementing recent United Nations Security Council resolutions proposing an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, Bin Salman reiterated Saudi Arabia’s call for the recognition of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, within the borders of 1967, as a means to achieve comprehensive, just, and lasting peace for the Palestinian people.
