Russia’s Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu arrived in Tehran on Monday to meet with the Iranian leadership, including President Masoud Pezeshkian. This visit is at the invitation of Ali Akbar Ahmadian, the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC).

The visit aims to bolster bilateral political and security relations, as well as to address regional and international issues, especially the current tension between Iran and Israel is on the agenda.

Shoigu’s visit signifies a step forward in enhancing the cooperation between Russia and Iran. Both nations are keen to explore ways to deepen their interactions and discuss critical security matters that affect the region and the broader international community.
