Russian foreign minister to meet with Egyptian counterpart to discuss Gaza
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is set to meet with his Egyptian counterpart, Badr Abdelatty, in Moscow for discussions centered on the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, particularly Israel’s war on Gaza.
The talks reportedly expected to place significant emphasis on efforts to resolve the conflict while also addressing broader bilateral relations between two countries.
Talks will focus on Gaza conflict
The Gaza conflict is anticipated to be a major focus of the talks. Egypt’s Ambassador to Russia Nazih Nagari confirmed that both sides will delve into the complexities of the situation in Palestine and Gaza. “Certainly, the situation in Palestine and Gaza is of the utmost importance to us,” Nagari stated.
Broader regional agenda on table
In addition to the Gaza conflict, the two diplomats are expected to discuss a wide range of issues affecting the region, including the situations in Libya and Sudan.
Nagari emphasized that the broader situation in the Middle East will be a key topic of discussion during the meeting.
