Giora Eiland, former head of Israel’s National Security Council, stated that Israel cannot achieve a “complete victory” in its military operations in Gaza or Lebanon, emphasizing the limitations of a military-only strategy.

Eiland urges political solutions

In an interview with Israeli Channel 12, Eiland pointed out that militant groups like Hamas and Hezbollah are unlikely to surrender, and there will always be individuals who continue firing rockets at Israel.

He stressed that continuing a two-front war will not serve Israel’s long-term interests. “It would be wise to open the door to political settlements,” Eiland said.

He added, “It is unfortunate to continue believing that military pressure in Gaza and Lebanon alone can achieve salvation.”

Military pressure insufficient

Eiland’s comments reflect growing concerns about the protracted conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon.

He argued that military solutions alone are not enough to bring peace or stability, advocating for the exploration of diplomatic channels.
