Netanyahu’s family accuses Israeli military leaders of coup plot amid Gaza conflict
Amid the ongoing crisis in Gaza, Sara Netanyahu, the wife of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has made a shocking claim about the Israeli military leadership.
Following the announcement that 42 reserve soldiers refused to fight in Gaza, Sara reportedly suggested that military commanders are planning a coup against her husband.
The Gaza invasion, initiated by Israel on Oct. 7, has escalated tensions between the Netanyahu government and the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF).
In a conversation with the families of captives, Sara expressed her distrust in the military leadership, accusing them of conspiring against the Prime Minister. Some family members interrupted her, emphasizing that the fate of their children held captive in Gaza depended on the military.
Sara clarified her accusations were directed only at the top military brass, not the entire military. She repeated this claim several times during the meeting.
In a related incident, Yair Netanyahu, the Prime Minister’s son, criticized Israeli Air Force Commander Tomer Bar, questioning his whereabouts during the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023.
Yair also condemned Bar for appointing General Ziv Levy, who had previously refused military service, as a trainer for Israeli Air Force pilots.
