The Gaza Health Ministry issued a dire warning on Sunday, stating that hospitals and oxygen stations across the strip are on the verge of shutting down within 48 hours due to fuel depletion caused by the ongoing Israeli conflict.

The remaining hospitals, health centers, and oxygen stations will cease operations within the next 48 hours

The ministry highlighted the critical situation, attributing it to “the depletion of fuel needed to power generators, which Israel restricts from entering Gaza, along with other essential supplies such as medicine and food, as part of tightened restrictions on the Strip.”

It noted that despite implementing stringent austerity measures to conserve remaining stocks, the fuel supply is nearly exhausted, posing a grave risk to essential medical services.

The ministry urgently appealed to “all relevant international and humanitarian organizations to intervene promptly by supplying necessary fuel, electrical generators, and spare parts for maintenance.”

Earlier, Hossam Abu Safiya, director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, had warned of imminent closure due to a fuel shortage exacerbated by Israel’s cessation of electricity supply to the Gaza Strip.

“If fuel is not secured within hours, we will be compelled to announce the closure of the sole hospital in northern Gaza, putting patients’ lives at risk, including those in the pediatric ward,” Abu Safiya stated.

Israeli attacks continue, death toll rises to 37,877

The death toll in Gaza, where Israel has been conducting attacks for 268 days, has risen to 37,877.

According to a statement from the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, the number of fatalities from Israeli attacks since Oct. 7, 2023, increased by 43 in the past 24 hours, reaching 37,877 with 86,969 injured.

The statement highlighted that the Israeli military carried out three “massacres” in various areas of Gaza in the last 24 hours, resulting in the death of 43 Palestinians and injuring 111 others.

The statement also reiterated that bodies are still trapped under debris and along roadsides, inaccessible to health and civil defense teams due to Israeli restrictions.

Israeli forces detain 20 Palestinians in occupied West Bank

Israeli forces detained an additional 20 Palestinians in various raids across the occupied West Bank.

In a joint statement by the Palestinian Prisoners Society and the Palestinian Liberation Organization’s Committee of Prisoners and Released Prisoners, it was reported that Israeli troops conducted raids in Nablus, Hebron, Tulkarem and Jerusalem.

These raids resulted in the arrest of 20 Palestinians, including former detainees, bringing the total number of Palestinians detained since Oct. 7, 2023, in the occupied West Bank to 9,450.

The statement also accused Israeli soldiers of physically assaulting detainees and their families during the raids, damaging their homes and opening fire directly.
