The Israeli military announced on Tuesday that intense clashes with Hezbollah are taking place in southern Lebanon.

Israel’s Arab media spokesperson Avichay Adraee posted a warning on X, advising citizens not to travel in vehicles between the northern area and the southern region of the Litani River.

Urgent warning issued

“Urgent warning to residents of southern Lebanon,” Adraee stated, highlighting that violent fighting is occurring in the region, where Hezbollah operatives are reportedly using civilians as human shields for their attacks. He urged residents to prioritize their safety by avoiding travel between the northern and southern areas of the Litani River. This warning will remain in effect until further notice.

Advice for specific villages from Israeli military

In a subsequent message, Adraee alerted residents in various villages, including Yaroun, Ain Ebel, Maroun al-Ras, and others, about the ongoing military operations.

“Hezbollah’s activities compel the Defense Forces to take action against them. The Defense Forces do not wish to harm you; for your safety, you must evacuate your homes immediately,” he said.

He warned that anyone near Hezbollah operatives and their military installations is at risk, adding, “Any house used by Hezbollah for military purposes is likely to be targeted.”

Residents urged to move north

Residents are instructed to head north of the Awali River immediately to ensure their safety and evacuate their homes.

“You must not travel south. Any movement in that direction may endanger your life. We will inform you when it is safe to return to your homes,” Adraee emphasized.
