Israeli media under fire for sharing Yahya Sinwar’s graphic images during live broadcast
Soon after rumors of Hamas top leader Yahya Sinwar’s death surfaced, many images showing his lifeless body circulated on social media.
Beside social media, Israeli media broadcasted Yahta Sinwar’s graphic images in their publications.
Tamar Uriel-Beeri, deputy editor-in-chief of the Israel-based Jerusalem Post, criticized Israeli media for their usage of Sinwar’s images.
She said, “Channel 12’s decision to publish photos of Sinwar, allegedly showing him dead after a fatal blow to the head, is absolutely deplorable. It is shameful.”
Israel’s Channel 12 published graphic photos of Sinwar during a live broadcast without adhering to global journalism standards.
In addition, many social media users opined that Israel’s leaking of Sinwar’s death photos intended to personally humiliate him, as he was seen as the mastermind behind the October 7 attacks.
