Israeli Defense Minister Gallant says new phase of war begins

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has announced that Israel is shifting its focus to the northern front as the conflict enters a “new phase.”
Speaking to Israeli Air Force personnel at Ramat David Airbase, Gallant emphasized that the “center of gravity is moving north,” with forces, resources, and energy now being redirected to that area.
The shift comes after the IDF’s 98th Division was redeployed to northern Israel, following extended operations in the Gaza Strip.
Gallant highlighted that the war’s new phase requires adaptability and noted that Israel’s objectives in the north are to ensure the safe return of residents to their homes. He reaffirmed that efforts to address the situation in the south and the status of hostages remain a priority.
