Israeli army says 55 rockets fired from Lebanon into northern Israel
The Israeli military reported that approximately 55 rockets were fired from Lebanon into the Upper Galilee region of northern Israel, with no casualties or injuries reported.
In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), the military indicated that nearly 35 rockets were launched from Lebanese territory between 8:59 a.m. and 9:01 a.m.
Alarm systems in the Upper Galilee region detected these rockets.
Some were intercepted, while the majority fell in open areas without causing damage.
The military also noted that, following alarm activation at 8:17 a.m., about 20 additional rockets were detected as being fired from Lebanon.
Similar to earlier, some of these rockets were intercepted, and others landed in open areas, resulting in no loss of life or property.
According to Israel’s Maariv newspaper, Hezbollah launched approximately 20 rockets at the city of Safed and the village of Akbara this morning within a few minutes.
Five rockets were reportedly fired at Safed last night.
Hezbollah has recently increased the range of its rockets, targeting Safed, Ros Pina, Hatzor HaGlilit and the Amiad Junction in Upper Galilee.
Israeli state television KAN reported that some rockets falling in open areas near Safed caused fires, including in locations that had not been evacuated.
Additionally, the Israeli military announced that this morning, a drone strike targeted a rocket launcher in southern Lebanon’s Galilee region.
The military also bombed a military building in Kefr Rumman, southern Lebanon and shelled several areas.
