Israeli airstrike claims life of Hezbollah-affiliated Al Manar’s cameraman
Kamil Karaki, a cameraman for Hezbollah-affiliated Al Manar television, was killed in an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon.
In a statement shared on Al Manar’s social media, the network reported: “Our cameraman, Kamil Karaki, was martyred in the airstrike by the Zionists.”
Karaki, a native of Kantara in southern Lebanon, had been with Al Manar for over 25 years, according to the statement.
The Lebanese National News Agency (NNA) also reported that the Lebanese Journalists’ Syndicate condemned Israel’s attacks on journalists.
“We condemn Israel’s continued assault on civilians across Lebanon, alongside the escalating genocidal massacres targeting innocent people. Journalists and cameramen have not been spared from these attacks, with Al Manar’s Kamil Karaki most recently targeted in his hometown of Kantara,” read the syndicate’s statement.
Lebanon has been facing heavy airstrikes since the morning of Sept. 23.
A day earlier, Hadi al-Sayyid, a reporter for Al Mayadeen television, was also killed in an Israeli strike.
