The Israeli army announced Tuesday evening that it would conduct significant attacks across the Middle East following Iran’s aerial assault of Israel. In a statement, officials declared, “We will attack in the Middle East tonight.”

Israel has promised a strong response after an Iranian missile attack hit several locations including Tel Aviv on Tuesday, with military spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari stating the retaliation would occur at a time and place of Israel’s choosing.

“This attack will have consequences,” Hagari declared, emphasizing that Israel plans to launch significant strikes across the Middle East that evening.

During a press conference, Hagari warned that Iran’s actions would come at a price and reiterated that Israeli forces are on high alert in both defensive and offensive positions due to the threat from Iranian missile attacks. When questioned about a potential imminent attack on Iran, he assured that the Israeli military is “prepared at the highest level.”

Hagari noted that the Israeli Air Force was at full capacity following the attack. Iran’s Revolutionary Guards had said its missile attack targeted “three military bases” in the Tel Aviv area.

“We targeted three military bases around Tel Aviv,” Israel’s commercial hub, the Guards said in a statement carried by news agency ISNA.

Meanwhile, Iranian President Pezeshkian stated that the missile strikes against Israel were based on the country’s “legitimate rights,” describing the response as a “decisive reaction” to Israeli aggression.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed responsibility for the missile strikes, asserting they launched dozens of ballistic missiles, causing air raid sirens to sound across Israel, particularly in Tel Aviv.

Casualties reported

In the aftermath of the missile strike, a Palestinian was killed in Jericho due to debris from the Iranian missiles, while Israeli emergency services reported 3 injuries from rockets landing in Tel Aviv.

Israeli military expands operations

In response to the escalating situation, the Israeli army has begun a ground assault on Lebanon and expanded military restricted zones along the border. Areas surrounding the Israeli settlements of Dovev, Tziv, and Malkia in northern Israel have been designated as “closed military zones,” prohibiting entry following a situational assessment.

The Israeli army also declared “closed military zones” around northern border settlements, including Metula, Misgav Am, and Kfar Giladi, as it commenced limited and intense ground assaults targeting Hezbollah’s infrastructure in southern Lebanon.
