Israel targets site near Iranian Embassy in Damascus, Syria
Iran’s state news agency IRNA reported that Israel targeted a building near the Iranian Embassy in Damascus, Syria. IRNA described the location as a civilian settlement in the Sheikh Saad neighborhood, noting its proximity to the embassy.
The Tuesday strike reportedly targeted a building used by Iran’s Revolutionary Guards for meetings with Hezbollah. It killed at least 7 civilians, including women and children, and injured 11 others, according to Syria’s state news agency.
The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights added that senior operatives from both Hezbollah and Iran’s Revolutionary Guards were present at the site during the attack. The strike also targeted a vehicle parked in front of the building.
Earlier, Syria’s state-run SANA news agency reported an Israeli strike on a residential building in the Mazzeh neighborhood of Damascus, an area known for housing security headquarters and several embassies.
