Israel massacres 146 doctors in Gaza Strip
Israel has killed 146 doctors from various specialties in Gaza, and the majority of medicines and medical supplies have been depleted amid ongoing Israeli military operations, the Gaza Health Ministry announced Sunday.
In a statement marking one year since the start of the Israeli offensive, the ministry reported that 83% of medical supplies and 60% of medications are unavailable in hospitals and health centers. Additionally, there are 25,000 patients and injured individuals in need of treatment outside the besieged territory.
Since the outbreak of Israel’s war on Gaza on Oct. 7, 2023, Israel has cut off electricity to Gaza, prevented the entry of fuel to operate its only power plant, and halted water supplies, communication, food and medical supplies while closing border crossings.
Throughout this period, Israel has restricted the entry of humanitarian, medical and fuel aid, allowing only a minimal amount for international organizations, which fails to meet the needs of the residents.
Despite a U.N. Security Council resolution calling for an immediate cease-fire, Israel has continued its brutal offensive on the Gaza Strip following an attack by Hamas on Oct. 7.
Nearly 41,900 people have been killed since the onset of the conflict, predominantly women and children, with over 97,100 others injured, according to local health authorities.
The ongoing Israeli onslaught has displaced nearly the entire population of Gaza amid a blockade that has resulted in severe shortages of food, clean water, and medicine.
Israel now faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its actions in Gaza.
