Iron Dome fails to intercept Iranian missile attack on Israel
Iran announced it launched dozens of missiles into Israel on Tuesday, escalating the months-long conflict involving Israel and Iran’s proxies, Hezbollah and Hamas, and raising fears of a broader regional war.
In response, Israel ordered residents to stay close to bomb shelters as air raid sirens blared nationwide. However, Israel’s Iron Dome Air Defense System failed to intercept dozens of Iranian ballistic missiles.
The missile barrage was a retaliation for Israel’s military actions against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
Alarms echoed throughout Israel, with explosions reported in Jerusalem and the Jordan River valley as residents sought refuge in shelters.
