The Iraqi Turkmen Front (ITC) has urged Turkmen communities across Iraq to actively participate in the upcoming nationwide census scheduled for November 20-21.

In a statement to Anadolu Agency, ITC spokesperson Muhammed Saman emphasized the importance of the census, particularly for regions with a significant Turkmen population. He explained that the data collected would be used by Iraq’s Ministry of Planning to aid in the country’s development.

Saman reassured the public that the results would not be manipulated for political purposes, highlighting that Iraq’s Federal Court, under Article 23 of the Iraqi Constitution, prohibits the use of census outcomes for political agendas.

The general census will be conducted across the entirety of Iraq, including the Kurdish Regional Government (KRG), marking an important step in the nation’s development process.
