Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian allegedly requested attacks on Israeli targets in Azerbaijan or the Iraqi Kurdish Regional Government, reports suggest. This claim emerged after allegations of Israeli soldiers being stationed in Azerbaijan.

Iranian media frequently argues that the good relations between Azerbaijan and Israel, which supposedly include Israeli military deployments, pose a security threat to Iran.

Following Israel’s assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Iran, criticism of Azerbaijan-Israel relations has intensified.

Azerbaijan-based media outlet APA has stated that the country’s officials believe the statement attributed to the Iranian president is false.

“Some circles are concerned about the recent normalization of Iran-Azerbaijan relations and are attempting to disrupt this process,” APA’s report claims.

The Azerbaijan Media Development Agency also issued a statement condemning the reports of Israeli soldiers in Azerbaijan as false, emphasizing that such misinformation should be strongly rejected.
