Iranian president blames US for Nasrallah’s death

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has accused the United States of complicity in the assassination of Hezbollah Secretary-General Hasan Nasrallah, following an Israeli airstrike on Beirut.
Pezeshkian’s comments were made in response to Nasrallah’s death, which was confirmed after Israeli forces targeted the Lebanese capital on Sept.27.
In a written statement, Pezeshkian praised Nasrallah for his resistance against Israel, stating: “The Zionists’ terrorist attack will make the family of resistance stronger than ever.”
He further condemned the U.S. for its support of Israel, directly linking Washington to the incident.
“The international community will not forget that the order for this terrorist attack was issued from New York and the Americans cannot absolve themselves from collaborating with the Zionists,” Pezeshkian said.
Netanyahu accused of giving orders from New York
Footages have surfaced, allegedly showing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issuing the orders for the airstrike while in New York.
The attack on Beirut marks a significant escalation in tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, a group backed by Iran in its resistance to Israeli influence in the region.
The death of Nasrallah has raised concerns about the future of Hezbollah’s leadership and its potential response to the attack. Iran, a strong ally of Hezbollah, has vowed to continue supporting the group’s efforts against Israel.
Pezeshkian’s statement underscored Iran’s belief that the attack was a coordinated effort between Israel and the U.S., further straining relations between Tehran and Washington.
