Iranian Government Spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani announced ongoing diplomatic talks with Syria aimed at reopening their respective embassies.

Diplomatic consultations underway for embassy reopenings

Speaking at a weekly press briefing, Mohajerani stated that both sides are ready and discussions are progressing through diplomatic channels.

“Our approach regarding the embassy in Syria is diplomatic. Both we and they are prepared. Diplomatic consultations are ongoing to reopen embassies in both countries,” Mohajerani said, according to Iran’s official news agency, IRNA.

“Maintaining the territorial integrity of Syria is one of the very important issues that Iran pursues, and naturally preventing the growth and spread of terrorism is one of the very important issues that is important for the region, so that Syria does not suffer again in this matter, nor do neighboring countries suffer,” Mohajerani added.
