Hezbollah targets Israeli Merkava tanks in major attacks
Hezbollah announced that Israeli soldiers were targeted with missiles and artillery shells in northern Israel and southern Lebanon on Friday. The attacks reportedly hit seven Israeli Merkava tanks, resulting in casualties among Israeli soldiers.
Hezbollah targeted three settlements in Safed twice, three military bases, two military positions, and an artillery site in northern Israel with a series of rocket strikes.
An Israeli drone was also forced to withdraw from Lebanese airspace after being hit by a ground-launched missile.
According to Israeli newspaper Hayom, this marks the highest number of attacks Hezbollah has conducted in a single day since October 8, 2023.
Death toll reaches 2,634 in ongoing Israeli violence in Lebanon
The escalating violence in Lebanon has resulted in a reported 2,634 fatalities, with the Israeli army continuing controlled clashes with Hezbollah since October 8, 2023. On Sept. 23, the Israeli military conducted hundreds of airstrikes on southern Lebanese cities, as well as the Bekaa and Baalbek regions.
According to data from the Lebanese Ministry of Health, since October 8, 2023, a total of 2,634 people have died, including 104 children and 194 women, with 12,252 others injured.
Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was killed in Israeli airstrikes on Beirut on Sept.27. In response, Hezbollah is launching rocket and missile attacks on Israel, primarily targeting military bases. Reports indicate no significant damage from these attacks.
The Israeli bombardments have reportedly displaced hundreds of thousands of people in Lebanon. As the wave of migration continues from southern areas to the capital, Beirut and northern regions, the Lebanese government has stated that over 486,000 displaced individuals have fled to Syria.
