The Israeli army Friday detected several rockets launched from southern Lebanon toward the Upper Galilee region, according to Hebrew media reports.

Hezbollah confirmed targeting Israeli military positions with “volleys of Falaq and Katyusha rockets.”

The Hebrew daily Yedioth Ahronoth reported that the rockets exploded in open areas of the Upper Galilee, causing no casualties.

The rocket fire triggered sirens in several Israeli settlements in the Upper Galilee.

In a statement issued Friday evening, Hezbollah claimed responsibility for attacking “the enemy’s artillery battery belonging to the 411th Battalion in Nafeh Ziv, the command headquarters of the Western Brigade 300 in Yaara Barracks and surrounding soldier deployments.”

Hezbollah stated these attacks were in retaliation for Israeli strikes on southern Lebanese villages on Thursday.

Earlier on Friday, Hezbollah announced four attacks on military targets in northern Israel, asserting direct hits.

In response, the Israeli army conducted airstrikes and artillery bombardments on several areas in southern Lebanon.

The Israeli army typically asserts that its strikes in Lebanon target Hezbollah military positions or personnel. However, Lebanon contends that many of these attacks impact innocent civilians.

Since Oct. 8, 2023, Lebanese and Palestinian factions in Lebanon, notably Hezbollah, have been exchanging daily shelling with the Israeli army across the “Blue Line” border, resulting in hundreds of casualties, mostly on the Lebanese side.
