Senior Hamas official Izzat al-Risheq has strongly criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s decision to resume military operations in Gaza.

In a statement, al-Risheq described the decision as an attempt to use war as a “lifeline” for Netanyahu amid his domestic political crises.

Al-Risheq further condemned the move, stating that Netanyahu’s return to war would endanger Israeli prisoners and could lead to their deaths.

He added that the “Israeli enemy” would not succeed in achieving what they failed to accomplish through negotiations by resorting to war and destruction.
