Hackers linked to Iranian intelligence expose information of Israeli officials
Hackers allegedly linked to Iranian intelligence are said to have exposed the personal information of a scientist working at the Sorek Nuclear Research Center south of Tel Aviv, as well as some Israeli officials.
According to Haaretz, the hackers are believed to have accessed and disclosed personal details of Israeli scientists and officials, including diplomats, and are suspected of having connections to Iranian intelligence.
The report mentions that among the materials seized by the hackers were screenshots related to the SARAF particle accelerator project, which involved the Israeli scientist, as well as the names of other scientists. The images appear to have been obtained from the scientist’s mobile phone or email account and are related to his work as a radiation safety expert. A
dditionally, a passport photo of the Israeli nuclear scientist was also released by the hackers.
To date, the hackers have released only 30 photos of the nuclear facility, but it remains unclear whether they have accessed more sensitive information about the research center.
