False earthquake alarms sound in northern Israel due to blasts in Lebanon
The Israeli military announced that earthquake warning alarms in northern Israel, including areas around Haifa, the Galilee region, and the occupied Golan Heights, were mistakenly triggered due to controlled detonations of Hezbollah munitions in Lebanon.
According to an Israeli military spokesperson, “The explosions heard in northern Israel were due to Israeli military activities in Lebanon, and there is no security incident in the area.”
Military sources added that the connection between these alarms and “Israeli military activities” is currently being examined, especially in relation to the accidental triggering of attack alarms.
Israeli media reported that the Israel Geological Survey confirmed the controlled detonations of Hezbollah munitions in Lebanon created a powerful explosion, which the warning system misinterpreted as an earthquake, activating the alarms.
