Aliyev also highlighted discussions on trilateral cooperation projects, specifically the North-South Transport Corridor, calling it a key regional initiative.
“This project will bring significant benefits to all participating countries. Azerbaijan has completed all necessary infrastructure projects for it,” Aliyev stated, adding that investments have expanded Azerbaijan’s ports, railways, and road transport capacities.

Iranian President hopes for enhanced bilateral development
Speaking at the airport before his departure, Pezeshkian expressed hope that his visit would contribute to the development of relations between the two countries.
According to Iran’s official news agency, IRNA, Pezeshkian described the relationship with Azerbaijan as “historical, cultural, and deeply rooted.”
“As neighboring countries, we have always supported each other. We share many commonalities, including religious, ideological, and political ties in this region, and we take pride in these connections. We aim to strengthen our relationships based on these shared values,” Pezeshkian said.
“Iran and Azerbaijan can work together to establish peace and security in the region and resolve challenges through cooperation,” he added.
Following meetings with Aliyev and other Azerbaijani officials, Pezeshkian reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to regional cooperation and mutual development projects.
