Azerbaijan has denied reports by some media outlets based in Iran, Israel, and the U.K. about the presence of Israeli troops in the country.

Azerbaijan Media Development Agency; stating that some Iranian, Israeli, and U.K.-based media organizations spread misleading news about Azerbaijan, reacted to unfounded allegations.

In a statement made by the Azerbaijan Media Development Agency, it was stated that the Iran-based “Iran International” television channel, the U.K.-based “The Telegraph” and the Israeli Public Broadcasting Organization “Kan” newspaper published news about Azerbaijan that violated international journalistic standards.

It was stated that these media outlets spread false news that “Israeli soldiers in Azerbaijan are banned from staying in the country.”

The Azerbaijan Media Development Agency, condemning this false news, said in its statement: “There are no military units of any foreign country on the territory of Azerbaijan. We strongly condemn manipulations based on false information on this issue.”

It was also emphasized that the public should only believe the information coming from official sources and called for caution against false and misleading campaigns.
