Albania’s Rama states Europe needs Türkiye and Middle Eastern allies more than ever

Albania’s Prime Minister Edi Rama asserted that Europe needs Türkiye and its Middle Eastern allies more than ever before.
Speaking at an iftar event in the capital, Tirana, on March 27, Rama highlighted the growing importance of these relationships for Europe’s geopolitical and strategic stability.
Rama’s remarks at iftar event
The iftar event, held at the Congress Palace in Tirana, was attended by senior officials, ambassadors, and other notable figures.
During his speech, Prime Minister Rama expressed his pleasure at participating in traditional iftar gatherings, which he said always brings him joy.
He also stated the spiritual significance of Ramadan, stating that it strengthens belief in the goodness of humanity and the triumph of good over adversity.
Rama took the opportunity to reflect on Europe’s strategic needs, particularly regarding its relationships with Muslim countries and partners in the Middle East.

Europe’s growing need for Middle Eastern alliances
Rama underscored that Europe’s need for Türkiye and other Middle Eastern partners now surpasses the need these countries have for Europe.
He stated, “Today, Europe needs Türkiye and other Middle Eastern allies more than Türkiye and these allies need Europe.”
The Albanian prime minister pointed out that, for Europe to recover on the international stage and reinforce its geopolitical security and strategic profile, it must rely on five key pillars of wisdom.
He stressed that these pillars are deeply connected to strengthening ties with Türkiye and Middle Eastern nations.
