According to initial reports, seven people have died following an Israeli airstrike on a U.N. school in Gaza where displaced individuals had sought refuge.

The Palestinian official news agency WAFA reports that Israeli warplanes targeted the “Asma” school in the Al-Shati refugee camp in western Gaza, which is operated by the Palestinian refugee agency UNRWA.

Initial assessments indicate that seven people were killed in the attack, and several others were injured.

Israel kills more than 42,500 in Gaza

Since the start of Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip on Oct. 7, approximately 42,500 Palestinians have been killed, including around 17,000 children and 11,378 women, with 99,546 others injured. Reports indicate that thousands remain trapped under the rubble, as civilian infrastructure, including hospitals and educational institutions, is being targeted.
