Tatyana Ozolina, the Russian social media sensation known as “MotoTanya”, has tragically passed away in a motorcycle accident in Türkiye. The 38-year-old, famous for her adventurous journeys around the world, died near Milas in Mugla province.
Days before the tragic crash, Tatyana Ozolina had posted a photo from Akcaabat, where she was traveling along the Black Sea coast from Georgia to the Greek border.
Details of accident
The accident occurred on the Milas-Soke highway, where Ozolina’s red 2015 BMW S1000RR motorcycle collided with a truck. Despite the immediate arrival of emergency services, the impact was so intense that she couldn’t survive and passed away at the scene. She leaves behind a 13-year-old son.
Her fellow Turkish rider Onur Obut was seriously injured and has been transported to Milas State Hospital for treatment. A third biker present at the scene was unhurt.
She could not ride in Europe
She was recently refused entry into the European Union at the Greek border for a summer tour amid curbs on Russians over Vladimir Putin’s war against Ukraine.
In her last social media post, Ozolina shared a poignant update from the Greek-Turkish border, expressing her disappointment about missing out on her European ride but remaining hopeful as she headed into Türkiye.
I was upset that I didn’t get to ride in Europe, but not too much, because I knew that this could happen. So I go on, to conquer the beautiful, warm and hospitable Türkiye
