Miss Universe Catriona Gray enjoys winter in Türkiye after breakup with Sam Milby

Catriona Gray, the 2018 Miss Universe titleholder, recently shared glimpses of her winter vacation in Türkiye, just days after her ex-fiance, actor Sam Milby, confirmed their breakup following an engagement.
Gray, 31, posted on Instagram about her trip to Cappadocia, a renowned region in Türkiye famous for its ancient cave dwellings, rock formations, and picturesque hot air balloons. Despite the weather preventing her from taking a hot air balloon ride, she embraced the opportunity to explore Cappadocia’s underground cities, indulge in local cuisine, and learn about the region’s rich history.
Discovering art of Turkish rug making
In one Instagram post, Gray expressed her excitement at learning the traditional art of Turkish rug making. “Loved the experience of learning about the art of Turkish Rug making,” she wrote. “We were able to experience how the raw materials such as silk are spun, dyed, and woven on these looms.”
Her caption continued, “Cappadocia in winter is really something else!” showcasing the region’s winter charm.
Exploring Istanbul: Catriona Gray’s journey continues
After her visit to Cappadocia, Gray traveled to Istanbul, where she visited the iconic Galata Tower to enjoy panoramic views of the city. She also shared moments sipping Turkish tea, which she posted on social media, alongside her visits to historical sites across the Historic Peninsula, including mosques and other notable landmarks.
While strolling through the streets of the Historic Peninsula, Gray took the time to try on a shawl at a local shop and savored traditional Turkish sweets. She reflected on her Istanbul experience, saying, “Finding inspiration everywhere in Istanbul.”
Engagement split: Sam Milby confirms breakup
Earlier this month, Milby, 41, confirmed that his relationship with Gray had ended. This announcement followed months of speculation, including sightings of Gray without her engagement ring and the removal of engagement photos from her social media accounts.
A video that surfaced on social media further fueled the breakup rumors, showing Gray and Milby seated apart at a Filipino singer’s concert, with Gray visibly emotional and seeking comfort from her friend, actress Isabel Oli.
At 31, Gray is one of only four Filipinos to have won the prestigious Miss Universe title. Before becoming Miss Universe in 2018, she won Miss World Philippines in 2016, Miss Universe Philippines in 2018, and also earned a spot as a top five finalist in the Miss World 2016 competition.
