The highly anticipated Michelin Guide 2025 for Istanbul, Izmir, and Mugla was unveiled on Thursday during a grand ceremony at the Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul. The selection includes 32 new additions, raising the total number of recommended establishments in Türkiye to 132: 77 in Istanbul, 24 in Izmir, and 31 in Mugla.

Among these new additions, two restaurants were honored with Michelin Stars, eight received Bib Gourmand distinctions, and six were awarded Michelin Green Stars for their commitment to sustainable gastronomy. Notably, all Michelin-starred restaurants from the 2023 and 2024 guides retained their accolades this year.

Michelin stars shine on Istanbul and Izmir

This year, Istanbul’s Casa Lavanda and Izmir’s Narimor received their first Michelin Stars. Renowned names such as Araka, Arkestra, Mikla, Neolokal, Nicole, and Sankai by Nagaya in Istanbul; Kitchen by Osman Sezener and Macakizi in Bodrum; and OD Urla, Teruar Urla, and Vino Locale in Izmir, retained their stars.

Türkiye’s culinary crown jewel, Turk Fatih Tutak in Istanbul, continued to hold its prestigious two-star rating, solidifying its reputation as a leader in the local gastronomic scene.

Green stars celebrate sustainable dining

The Michelin Green Star, awarded to restaurants prioritizing eco-friendly gastronomy, was given to six establishments this year. In Istanbul, Casa Lavanda, The Barn, and Telezzuz were recognized, while in Mugla, Mezra Yalikavak and Agora Pansiyon received the accolade. Izmir’s beloved Asma Yapragi also joined this elite group.

Bib gourmand numbers climb to 27

The Bib Gourmand list, which celebrates high-quality dining at moderate prices, now features 27 restaurants across Istanbul (14), Izmir (8), and Mugla (5). New additions include Arka Ristorante Pizzeria, Ali Ocakbasi, Aslinda Meyhane, Tatbak, Araf Istanbul, Nazende Cadde, Beynel, and the Green Star winners Asma Yapragi and Agora Pansiyon.
