Meteorology warns of upcoming weather in Türkiye as summer returns
Weather in Türkiye has always been unexpected but experiencing summer heat during fall is not common.
Temperatures are expected to rise significantly on Friday, according to the latest weather forecast from the Meteorology General Directorate. The report predicts hotter conditions than seasonal averages in many parts of the country, particularly in western and northern regions.
Clear skies and increased heat in western regions
The Aegean and Mediterranean regions are expected to experience clear skies and increased heat. Cities like Izmir and Mugla will see temperatures around 86 degrees Fahrenheit (30 degrees Celsius) to 90 degrees.
Similarly, the Mediterranean cities, including Antalya and Adana, are also predicted to have sunny days with increased heat, reaching up to 95 degrees Fahrenheit. Residents are advised to avoid outdoor activities during peak sunlight hours and stay hydrated.
Cloudy skies and local showers expected in Black Sea region
While most of the country will enjoy clear weather, the Black Sea region will have cloudy conditions with the possibility of local showers in the eastern parts.
Meteorology reports that areas like Artvin and Trabzon may experience short, localized rainfall, particularly in the afternoon. Temperatures in this region will remain relatively moderate, with cities like Samsun and Trabzon hovering around 77 degrees to 79 degrees.
Weather in Türkiye poses visibility concerns due to fog in northern, central regions
Marmara and the interior regions of the Black Sea will face visibility issues due to fog, especially during the morning and night hours. Cities like Istanbul and Kocaeli are expected to have clear skies during the day but might experience patches of fog early in the morning.
In Central Anatolia, areas such as Ankara and Eskisehir are also predicted to have foggy conditions, which could pose risks for drivers. Caution is advised for those traveling in these areas during early and late hours.
